Co-Curricular Activities

Objectives

  1. To give children ample opportunities for self expression.
  2. To teach social co operation by providing experiences in group living.
  3. To make children aware of their social responsibilities.
  4. To prepare children for better leadership and fellowship .
  5. To develop in children high standards of aesthetic sense, ethics, discipline, sportsmanship and social spirit.
  6. To give them training in democratic citizenship.

Socially Useful Productive Work

SUPW is a series of organized, controlled activities which are socially useful and economically viable. They tend to bridge the gap between the classes and masses, promote integration between the world of work and the world of scientific and social knowledge and broaden aesthetic vision. Their outcome can be a product, a process, a service or an artistic creation.

WHY SCOUTING ?

Scouting is an educational movement based on open air games. Scouts and Guides learn by outing and play way methods which brings integral development in a child. They become good leaders as well as good followers. They ever remain physically fit mentally awake and morally upright. They become self-reliant and face the challenges of life confidently with the motto of 'Be Prepared' and service to others. The total change of attitude that comes in the children make the parents and country feel proud of them. The sustained activities of scouting movement is always an interesting and amusing project for students and a solution to parent's worries.

SCOUTS & GUIDES

Scouts/Cubs :

  1. Grey shirts with shoulder straps with two flap patch pockets.
  2. Navy blue shorts / full (half pant)
  3. A blue beret cap / turban for Sikh / p. Cap
  4. Web belt with Scout buckle. (Supplied by national Hqrs.)
  5. Blue Soar : Triangular (isosceles) base 70 cm and 80cm side with white border and Woggle.
  6. Badge and shoulder badge supplied by National Association.
  7. Foot wear : Black shoes and black stockings.

Guides / Bulbuls :

  1. Deep Sky blue Skirt of knee length / pinafore.
  2.  White blouse with two flap patch pockets, half sleeves.
  3. Leather belt supplied with buckle.
  4. Blue Scarf of isosceles Triangle base 70cms and 80cms with white border.
  5. Badge and shoulder badge.
  6. Foot Wear : Black Shoes with white Stockings.
  7. Blue half ribbon. Bulbuls : Same as for guides.

NOTE :

  1. Badges, Shoulder Badges, Buckles and Woggle will be supplied by the National Association of Bharat Scouts and Guides on payment.
  2. Parents are requested to arrange dresses latest by First Week of August.

           12 Students have qualified for the"TRITYA SOPAN"  Testing Camp in 2009-2010

           Master Abhishek has got the "Rajya Puraskar" Award

 

         SPORTS AND GAMES                                                        

  • Vidyalaya arranged Block Period classes from VI Std to X Std weekly 4 periods each classes in different games and sports activities.

         a)       Volleyball

b)       Hockey

c)       Table Tennis

d)       Chess and

e)       Athletics

  • Age wise group activities (Athletics events) From I std to XII std in the month of August, September & October 2007.
  • Cluster level selection trials:-
  • July & August 07 and coaching camp.

  • Regional level selection trials

  • September 07 and coaching camp.

  •  To enactive students to develop their talents and interests, Nature club, and adventure club, Trekking programmee, Conduct their activities periodically.

                 House Activity competition will be conduct through out the year, for Boys and

            Girls, i.e. Hockey, Volleyball, Chess, T.T, Athletics, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi

 Achievements of sports & games for the year 2006-07

  1. Hockey U-19:- 4 students are selected KVS national meet. One Boy was selected for SGFI meet.

  2. T.T Boys & Girls.

         2 Boys selected for KVS National meet.

         6 Girls was selected for KVS National meet.

         1 Girls was selected for SGFI meet - 06.

  1. Weekly conducting the mass P.T for all students.

Specially Conducting Summer coaching camp for interested children in Hockey,T.T, Volleyball etc,during the month of May & June.

Achievements of Sports and Games for the year 2007-08

“Dharwad district Olympic association conducted on 13-11-2007”
